Hearing Bach’s Cello Suites performed live is a rare experience. These iconic works demand both mastery of skill and deep heartfelt interpretation, making each performance truly unique. Jonathan Aasgaard will perform with no accompaniment, bringing every note to life, revealing the intricate beauty and hidden depths of Bach’s genius.
Live performances of these works are a treasure, offering audiences the chance to connect with music that has endured for centuries but is seldom heard in its full, intimate glory. Having sold out every previous performance of this programme, Jonathan Aasgaard brings you a magnificent recital in the splendour of St George’s Hall Concert Room, with drinks and canapés included.
Ticket sales for this event will raise funds for our campaign ‘Love Music: From the First Note’, which supports all our music education work with young people.
The concert will begin at 5pm.
Doors will open at 4pm, with welcome drinks on arrival.
There will be an interval of 1 hour after Suite No 3 when drinks and canapés will be provided. There will be a further 10 minute interval after Suite No 5.
The concert will finish at approximately 8.30pm.
